Pelle Akesson continues investigating Helen's case, but struggles when battles for power and political games come into play; two women are found killed.
The lack of answers in the Helen Nilsson case torments Pelle, so he starts working on the case of a murdered sex worker.
When Pelle returns from sick leave, he decides to secretly start investigating the Helen case once more.
Pelle secretly sends off a DNA sample for analysis, as he races to find answers before the case is closed forever.
Fifteen years have passed since Helen's disappearance and Pelle decides to tear down Ulf's cottage, where he finds traces of blood.
